Maria Krupoves and Gerard Edery present a beautiful fusion of music drawn from their respective roots in the Christian and Jewish cultures.  By weaving together folk songs, chants, and prayers from across centuries and across Europe they show that the human need for spiritual dimension defies all boundaries of time and place. Join them for a unifying experience as their voices blend in medieval works of praise and devotional songs from the Sephardic Diaspora and Eastern Europe.

Dr. Maria Krupoves, artist and folklorist, is internationally acclaimed as a singer and interpreter of the folksongs of Central and Eastern Europe, especially those of her native Vilnius. She has traveled extensively to find and then sing such songs, many of them now dying out, which are in Yiddish, Polish, Lithuanian, Belorussian, Gypsy (Roma), Karaim, Tatar, and other languages. In 2005 Maria performed in Yad Vashem (Jerusalem) and in September 2006 with Gerard Edery at the festival of sacred music in Lithuania "Pax et Bonum."

"A cultural powerhouse", Gerard Edery "juggles musical roles with almost surreal ease" (Seattle Jewish Transcript and The New York Jewish Week). Gerard was born in Casablanca and raised in Paris and New York City. Speaking several languages throughout his childhood, he absorbed a variety of musical traditions spanning three continents.  Considered one of the leading interpreters of Sephardic Song, he has been honored with the Sephardic Musical Heritage Award and has received a Meet the Composer grant for his original songs.  He recently toured with the Spirit of Fes throughout the United States in its "Paths to Hope" 2006 tour.

Pavel Giunter is the leading percussionist in Lithuania.  A member of the Lithuanian Association of Percussionists, he is also the founder of the ensemble "Giunter Percussion" - the first and the only one of its kind in this field in Lithuania. As a soloist or in an ensemble, Giunter has given quite a number of first performances of modern works, several of which were dedicated to him.

Violinist Vytautas Mikeliunas is known throughout Lithuania as a master of different musical styles. Since his graduation from Vilnius Music Academy in 1981, he has performed with various classical and jazz groups. For many years Vytautas was a concertmaster in the Vilnius St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra but more recently he has focused on leading his own jazz ensembles.
