Award winning Vocalist, Composer, Actress

Tony Award nominee and winner of several top industry awards including Outer Critics Circle Award, Drama Desk Award, EW Award, Drama League Award for Outstanding Performance in a Musical (for originating the role of "Rafiki") in THE LION KING ON BROADWAY, Tsidii Le Loka Lupindo (she goes simply by “Tsidii”) continues to bring her electrifying performances and multi--faceted artistry to international audiences. Tsidii was the only lead performer in The Lion King On Broadway to be also involved in the creative process of the musical, and her composition, Rafiki Mourns is included in the Grammy Award winning album of The Lion King On Broadway. This supremely talented lady has also been awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement in Musical Theatre from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. Tsidii won the highest number of top industry awards among all performers in the musical (The Lion King).

Her concert career performances, festivals, international tours and recordings include a roster of world-class stars such as Sting, Elton John, Madonna, Harry Belafonte, Miriam Makeba, Dionne Warwick, Youssou N'Dour, Roberta Flack, Max Roach and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Tsidii has collaborated and performed as guest star in productions including Riverdance On Broadway in which she also shared the stage with Irish star Brian Kennedy, and in CANCIONES ANTES DE UNA GUERRA / SONGS BEFORE A WAR (Maria Pages' Flamenco Company) which toured Spain and Italy and won best Show of the Seville Bi-Centennial Flamenco Festival (XIII Bienal De Flamenco de Sevilla). With the invitation of her now late mentor Anneline Malebo, ex-singer of "South Africa's Supremes", JOY, Tsidii started her career as a member of the top South African Trio SHADIII, with Anneline Malebo and Faith Kekana.

Her theater, film and TV credits include lead roles in two Stephen King made-for-television movies, ROSE RED and THE DIARY OF ELLEN RIMBAUER (Stephen King and Ridley Pearson), and LAW AND ORDER. Theater includes SOUTH PACIFIC (in which Tsidii played “Bloody Mary” and earned a Leon Rubin Award Nomination), THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES with Phyllis Newman and Lea DeLaria, and AGAMEMNON AND HIS DAUGHTERS, in which she played “Kassandra”. Her television special CAUGHT IN THE ACT on WGBY won the Iris Award for best local program. The television special TSIDII LE LOKA IN CONCERT aired on major television networks and was re-aired several times by popular demand. Tsidii was the only performer invited to sing at Dr. Nelson Mandela's first International Press Conference in Johannesburg after his release from prison.
