SOULFARM

SOULFARM is a trio of extraordinarily
gifted musicians from New York who are forging an exciting new sound
by combining the musical roots of their heritage with a shared passion
for melodic song writing and modern, progressive arrangements. Already
hailed as "a high intensity band" by CMJ New Music Report, SOULFARM
is now harvesting higher ground on its first studio album, SCREAM OF
THE CROP.
SOULFARM's textured wall of sound
is nothing if not unique, and offers those rarest of qualities in contemporary
music: multigenerational and cross-cultural appeal. Live, the band's
indefinable, riveting world-beat blueprints and turbo-charged energy
turns heads toward the stage in every venue in which they perform. Performance
across the country have left crowds standing on their feet, and critics
groping for superlatives to describe the band's music and power and
what exactly makes SOULFARM so different and special. The Philadelphia
Inquirer described SOULFARM's music as, "An original new trip, indeed."
And Relix magazine saluted the band for creating "a sound that's cross-cultural
and positively intoxicating."
| SOULFARM plays what can be best
thought of as "new American music." C, Noah and Mark write the songs:
equal partners, equal input, equal talent. They are the essence
of SOULFARM, the three core players who create the band's signature
musical themes and crystalline three-part harmonies - although in
concert they are accompanied by at least one extra player, and often
more. SOULFARM's potent, guitar-driven sound is an original configuring
of a wide spectrum of influences, from the kings and queens of classic
rock and funk to the groov'n and blues'n legends of soul. Fueled
by C's mind-boggling guitar leads, SOULFARM delivers it all with
a heaping helping of international flavors, many of them Middle
Eastern in origin. |

When not in the studio, SOULFARM
can be found on the road, playing everywhere from the Bill Graham festivals
in San Francisco with friends Steve Kimock, Merl Saunders and special
guest Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction) to the cultural stages of Berlin,
Germany, where they recorded two live CDs -Live in Berlin 2 and its
predecessor, Live In Berlin. In its hometown, SOULFARM has ignited a
wide fan base that regularly sells out clubs like the Lion's Den and
the Wetlands where their first album under the new name, Live @ Wetlands,
was recorded. They have also played before a packed house in New York's
famed Town Hall. Through extensive tours of the U.S. and Europe, the
group has gained increased popularity on college stages and at festivals
on two continents. In June 1999, the band opened for Bruce Hornsby and
Shawn Colvin at the hugely successful Ben & Jerry's Festival in Vermont.
More recently, SOULFARM opened for Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart
at the Firehouse, a top club in St. Louis.
Perhaps what has set SOULFARM apart
and allowed it to reach a disparate audience is the universality of
its music, which offers rhythms you can hear on any neighborhood corner
in any city - gorgeous, aggressive, unpredictable rhythms flooding from
the streets, windows, alleys and sidewalks.
