Shira Gavrielov

After being chosen by many Israeli radio stations as #1 on the charts, the young and very talented Shira Gavrielov is ready to take over the rest of the world.

Shira was born in the spring of 1989 and has established herself as one of the music elites in Israel. Shira's father introduced her to music, being himself an important member of the Israeli musical landscape, but it didn’t take long for her to start her own musical journey.

Wanting to learn as much as she could, Shira got accepted into Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp all the while studying classical ballet and jazz in The Alma Frankfurt Dance School. But what really set her apart was her voice.

At 15 she used that voice for the first time on a song entitled "Boy and Girl" (Naar ve Naara) that charted well enough to garner interest from major Israeli record label NMC Israel. But wanting to keep on her own musical journey she decided to record her debut record on her own terms. But not before expanding her musical knowledge even more.

At 17, she started attending the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, a branch school of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where she was one of the youngest students ever to be accepted. Shortly after, Shira released "Haboker Ya'ir," from her debut self-titled album. Shira had another taste of the spotlight, and decided she didn’t want her journey to end there.

On top of her musical success, Shira was offered to be the first artist signed and sponsored by the Israeli wireless company Cellcom. Shira was also chosen by fashion company Pascha Studios, to be their spokesperson.

Shira's signature sound, blending beautiful harmonies with her sultry voice, has audiences captivated as they listen to her. Add in her classical musical training and the desire to always do something new and you get something very honest and refreshing.

Nowadays Shira is promoting her sophomore effort, Clear Vision. Her cover of Gnarls Barkleys "Crazy", produced by top British producers Tom Nichols and Tim Baxter, has become a huge hit in Israel and abroad. The follow up, "Don't Just Walk on By," which she wrote, gives her fans an even more intimate look into this prolific artists' journey.

Shira's CD was chosen by US college radio stations among the top 200 albums of the year - 2011.
