Hadar Noiberg Trio

After a very captivating performance during the successful US Premier Tour of Yemen Blues, flutist-composer-arranger Hadar Noiberg and her music project, which involves two world renowned musicians, Ziv Ravitz on drums and percussion and Edward Perez on double bass, are now booking their US CD Release Tour to take place this Fall of 2011.

After recording their first CD “Journey Back Home” in 2010, Hadar’s Trio had a CD Release tour in Israel and Europe (with booking agent Bruno Wallisch from Kultur in der Landschaft). The Trio project was also invited to participate in a prestigious event called "Light of Understanding" that took place at the Spanish Synagogue in Prague and hosted over 200 people, among them the Israeli Ambassador in Prague and the Cardinal of the Czech Republic.

Since arriving in NYC at age 21, flutist, composer and arranger Hadar Noiberg has been a major force in the Cuban, Jazz and World music scenes, with a language that transcends her Middle Eastern roots, she fuses styles seamlessly, making her voice one that is highly distinctive and innovative. Growing up in Israel with an eclectic musical culture, Hadar was surrounded by various styles of music that are a part of the Israeli melting pot such as Middle Eastern music, Eastern European, Yemenite and Moroccan music to name a few. Now she is fusing those influences into her own compositions, sliding between Jazz improvisation and Western harmony to Middle Eastern rhythms and semitones.

Hadar's new CD, Journey Back Home, is also a journey of the flute as a lead instrument. As Hadar states: “The flute in Western improvised music has always been an instrument that was either used by doublers or was not considered a serious main instrument. In the Eastern and Middle Eastern musical traditions the flute, the Middle Eastern ney or the Indian bansuri are main influential instruments that hold the deep soul of the music. I want to bring that depth and richness into my music which is highly influenced by both West and East, featuring the flute as a strong leading instrument.”

Hadar was featured with acclaimed artists such as Yemen Blues, Dave Valentin, Anat Cohen, Omer Avital, Coco Mama, Alvester Garnett, Joel Frahm, Junior Rivera, Louis Kahn, Rufus Reid and many more and is performing and touring nationally and internationally showcasing in such venues and festivals as The Blue Note, Womex, Dizzy's at Lincoln Center, Babel Med Festival, Summer Stage, Iridium, Jazz Standard, Sweet Rhythm, Smalls Jazz Club, Merkin Hall, 55 Bar, Creole Blues Festival, Michigan Womyn’s Festival, Midsummer Night Swing Festival, Roskilde Festival, Nessiah Festival, to name a few.
